Project Templates

Once a project has been created and set up you may wish to reuse it regularly for repeat survey efforts across your organisation. One way to do so is by cloning a project however a more efficient method is to create project templates. These will be displayed in the template gallery and function much like the default templates provided with your Coreo subscription.

Note: A project that contains UKHab forms cannot be made into a template as such you will need to use project cloning to create copies of your UKHab based projects.

To create a project template:

  • Open ‘Project Settings’ under the ‘Project Setup’ sub-heading in the side-panel.
  • In the project settings page scroll down to ‘Template Settings’.

Here you can provide your template with a name and a description, both of which will be visible in the template gallery once your template is published.

Editable Template

An editable template behaves like our default protected species and other templates, meaning that when a new project is created from the template you will be able to fully edit that new project, independent of your template. In other words there are no restrictions to the settings or forms in a project made from an editable template.

Master Template

A master template behaves like the UKHab template. Projects created from the template have their forms locked. To make changes to these forms the changes must be made in the master template project itself. These will then be forwarded to all projects that were created from the master template.

Once you have chosen the type of template you wish to create:

  • Toggle ‘Publish template’ to ‘on’.
  • Click the blue ‘Save changes’ button in the top right.

Once you have created your templates they will be available to create projects from in the Template gallery, under ‘Organisation templates’.

Master templates are denoted by a lock symbol on the right hand side of the listed template.

The original projects will still be listed in your project list but they will be labeled.

  • Editable templates will have a grey ’Template’ label.
  • Master templates will have a blue ‘Master Template’ label.

To remove a template from the template list:

  • Go back to ‘Project settings’.
  • Un-toggle ‘Publish template’.
