Create a project with pre-survey locations

To build a survey where you have existing geospatial geometry data that you would like to be able to use as the basis for creating new geometries, try the following.

First, create a new project in Coreo, then add a new form. Include a Location question with the appropriate geometry selectors added that match your source data (polygon, point etc.)

Adding your pre-survey data

There are two ways of doing this, via Collections, or the Maps & Boundaries page. Instructions on how to add your data via these two methods can be found on our page Vector data – How to upload to Coreo projects

If you have added your data to a collection, make sure you have enabled ‘Visible as a map layer’ in the settings for the Custom Layer in Maps & Boundaries so it can be viewed in the Coreo app as a map layer.

Configuring the app

Install your project on the app, and start your survey. When you get to the Location question, open up the map layers tool and make sure your custom map layer/s are enabled.

You should now see your custom layer on the map.

Add a new record and when prompted to add a location select one of the existing geometries by tapping on it. This will bring up an option to ‘Copy Geometry’.

Selecting this will create a copy of the geometry in your survey record which you can now edit as required.

You can now continue with your survey.
