Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication in Coreo

3 minutes

Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA for short, is an effective way to ensure that your data and account stay safe and secure. Enabling this option is recommended and it’s straightforward to set up. For help with setting it up watch our video tutorial, or follow the instructions below.

Note: We do not provide support or documentation for using third party applications such as authenticators. For any issues with your chosen authenticator please seek out documentation and assistance from the provider of your authenticator e.g. Google.

  • Sign into the Coreo Admin Area
  • View your profile settings page clicking the profile picture in the upper right hand corner of the Coreo Admin Area homepage
  • Click the “Profile” link in the menu
  • Click on the “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” button to enter the setup screen

Once in the authentication set up page you will have two options for linking Coreo to your Authenticator.

Link via QR Code

To link via QR code open your authenticator and select the option to “scan code” (the exact wording will differ depending on your chosen authenticator application). When ready:

  • Scan the QR code on the authentication set up page using your device’s camera.

Link via Setup Code

To link via setup code, open your authenticator and select the option to input setup key/code, again, the exact wording for this will differ depending on your chosen authenticator application. When ready:

  • Enter the code shown on the authentication set up page into your authenticator (highlighted section below)

Next Steps

Once Coreo has been added to your authenticator:

  • Copy the associated code from your authenticator into the boxes provided

Two-Factor Authentication is now active and you should receive a confirmation email notifying you of the change. To ensure that you have a backup method of unlocking your account in case you are unable to access your authenticator, generate backup codes:

  • Click the “Generate Codes” button

You will now be presented with a series of codes used to access your account in case your authenticator is lost. To copy these codes:

  • Click the “Copy codes” button
  • Paste the codes into a secure location such as your password manager.
  • When finished click the blue “Finish Setup” button.

With Two-Factor Authentication is now active, simply input the code from your authenticator when logging back into Coreo.

Disabling Two Factor Authentication

Should you wish to, you can disable Two Factor Authentication once it has been active. To do so head back to the profile page in the Coreo Admin Area, then:

  • Click the “Disable Two Factor Authentication” button
  • Click the red “Disable Two Factor Authentication” button  to confirm your decision
  • Click the “Cancel” button to cancel

You will receive a confirmation email once Two-Factor Authentication has been disabled.
