UKHab & BNG: Adding Baseline Records in the Admin Area
Best practice for adding baseline records to a UKHab/BNG project is to do so using the app whilst out in the field. However there are scenarios where you may need to add records when desk based. You can do so by:
- Navigating to the ‘Baseline’ tab in the sidebar.

- Click the green ‘Add Record’ button in the top right of the screen.

A window will open presenting you with the full list of questions for conducting a UKHab/BNG baseline survey. This window closely resembles the record summary page in the Coreo App and includes all elements of a UKHab baseline survey. You can fill in your new record sequentially or jump to different parts of the form.
Note: Some parts of the form are hidden until previous sections are answered.

To begin you should add geometry to your record using the map. When adding records in this fashion you will be presented with a blank map to begin with. In order to see your records and redline boundary you will need to open map settings to enable them. First:
- Click the ‘Map Settings’ icon.

- Then toggle on ‘Map Bounds’ (if off) and any layers you wish to use. In this instance we have turned on both the UKHab pre-survey and UKHab survey layers to work with.

The geometries in this view match those in the app rather than those that use UKHab symbology elsewhere in the Admin Area. You can now add geometry to this record just as you would in the app using the tools provided. In this example we will copy the underlying pre-survey record. To do so:
- Click the ‘Copy’ icon in the geometry tools and select the geometry you wish to copy (in this case the pink pre-survey record).

With your geometry added you can now continue to fill in your survey, as you would in the app. Including adding species lists, quadrats and condition assessments.

Once your new record is complete click ‘Save’ to add it to your project.
