Signing up to a Contributor project using an 8 digit code

A Contributor project is a special type of Coreo project which is intended for citizen science or other similar group-based projects.

A common way to join a Contributor project is with a unique code. If you have a code, this document will take you through how to sign up, step-by-step, and covers if you’re totally new to Coreo and if you already have the app installed and have an account.

I’ve never used Coreo before

• If you don’t already have the Coreo app, the first thing you will need to do is to go to the relevant app store and download it.

• Once installed, select the Got a code option on the sign in screen (highlighted below).

• On the screen that follows, input the code you have been provided with.

• If you are creating a new account, enter your email address making sure it’s correct – you’ll be sent a confirmation email that you must use to activate your account.
• Also enter your full name and a password and then hit “Sign up”.

• You’ll now be sent a verification email which contains a link. You’ll need to click this link in order to complete the verification step for your account (this ensures that the email you entered is correct).

If you do not receive an email within a few minutes, first check your spam folder. If it’s not there it’s likely that you entered your email incorrectly. Repeat the sign up process again, carefully checking your email address.

• The following screen should auto-complete as soon as you complete the verification step above, but if not, select the “I have verified my account” button.

• You’ll now be signed in, and the relevant project will be automatically installed for you. You’re now ready to start collecting data.

I’m already using Coreo

If you’re already using Coreo, you have the app and are signed in, just follow the simple steps below to add a ‘contributor’ project.

• Open the app menu and select Projects.

• Click on the vertical ellipses in the top left hand corner.

• Select Add project by code

• Simply enter the code you have been provided to install the project.
